Vranec is an ancient grape variety native to the western half of the Balkan Peninsula. The grape’s production area is limited to specific parts of Montenegro, the Republic of Macedonia, and Serbia. As a result, Vranec has come to embody the terroir of the Balkans as it is both regionally specific and ancient…not unlike the various Balkan cultures that cultivate said grape.
